Castle Baroque Players was founded on Castle Street by Seb Carrington and Tim Batchelar in July 2025, with the goal of reviving Baroque music in the Leicestershire music community after a decades-long absence. The inaugural concert series, 'Introducing Castle Baroque Players', showcased local semi-professional and amateur musicians, many of whom had never played authentic instruments before. Through masterclasses and tuition, which are central to our educational programme, Castle Baroque Players has emerged as one of the most exciting new music projects in the Midlands.

Castle Baroque Players have collaborated with a number of major voices in early music, including Karen Silverwood, Catriona Bourne, and David Fisher. As a key part of the Leicestershire music community, we are always seeking new collaborations. If you are interested in working with us on your project—whether it's a major choral event like a Baroque music performance of Messiah or St. John Passion, or performing with us in a concerto or similar—then don't hesitate to get in touch.
